Houston zoo expansion

The Houston zoo´s 70-million state-of-the-art exhibit, “Galápagos islands” was originally scheduled to open in 2022. But supply chain issues have disrupted construction, and the Project in now expected to debut in early 2023.

The Galápagos Islands exhibit Will span 2.5 acres and Will feature the Zoo´s firts-ever penguin hábitat. Other planned features inclue a Split-level, wave-sculped sea cave that Will house Sally lightfoot crabs; an underwater, 40-ft. long acrylic tunner and a 190,000-galon Aquarium

The Zoo´s entrance was updated last year as part of the Houston Zoo´s centennial master plan, which includes a six-year, multi-phase Project featuring a series of transformative exhibits, public amenity upgrades and enhanced public spaces with a $150 million Price tag.
